Grizzly Inc

To those who may not know... Josh has gotten a job!!! It's been such a whirlwind experience and I thank God for his miraculous care of us. Unemployment ran out last week, with the last check coming Tuesday. Josh applied for a job at Grizzly on Thursday, interviewed Friday and started work Monday morning!

His new position is a Machinist of sorts. He uses the president of Grizzly's machines to make prototypes and other thing, writes G-codes for the CNC, repairs older machines and helps out the customers when needed. Because he works in the corporate offices, he has to wear slacks, dress shirt and a tie. Which is so strange to see, since we don't dress up for anything. We actually had to go buy him a bunch of new clothes, because most his clothes are made by Carhartt and don't really fit in a corporate setting, LOL.

I thank you all for your prayers during Josh's time of unemployment. It was a long road and we are so glad for it to be over, but wouldn't have passed up all the time we had with him home all day for anything. Please keep praying that he continues to do well at this new job and he can be a blessing to his new work team.

Tagged

Monica over at Homespun Heart did this tagged questionnaire. I found the questions fun and not at all offensive like most these questionnaires usually are. So I figured I'd give it a go.

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family?

We have our three chickens, not really pets and they are definitely not part of our family. I am totally prepared mentally to eat them one day if I have to. But, since they are egg layers we treat them more like a pet because we want them to be happy and lay us lots of eggs to eat!

2. What would you do with a billion dollars?

Pay off any debts, buy a vehicle large enough for our family, buy a farm & a heard of deer (did I never share that I have a secret desire to be a venison farmer) and give away the rest. I don't like having money, leads to too much temptation to just blow it all on something ridiculous.

3. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?

My family, prayer and my friends.

4. What is your bedtime routine?

Get Eli to sleep, prep myself for bed (contacts out, etc), try to read a bit and then plan and pray as a fall asleep.

5. Name something that has surprised you this week about motherhood.

How it is easier and harder at the same time not having Josh here all day long. I think we get more done with him here, but the day goes much smoother when it's just me.

6. What kind of books do you read?

My Bible, children's books and non-fiction Christian books.

7. What’s your fear?

I don't have many unusual fears... just being in high open places (skyscrapers don't bother me, but being on a cliff half the size does), the kids being hurt, etc. I have learned (and am still learning) to "trust the Lord and lean not on my own understanding" Prov. 3:5.

8. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to see outer space?

Nope. Seeing through a telescope is good enough for me!

9. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

Make Coffee

10. What is one thing you love about your husband?

Hmm... One thing... He is all together desirable! LOL! That's from a book I read recently. =D

11. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?

I like my name, but once went by the name Winter (what my parents first choice for my name was) and have had numerous people call me Sarah/Stephanie.... They might be confusing me with my sister Shandi, but either way...They're still wrong.

12. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose?

SUN! I lived in Washington my whole life! I have had enough rain!

13. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?

Anything Mexican

14. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most?

Staying connected with everyone.

15. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods?

S-A-A-W-E-E-E-T!!! I love baking and making yummy treats!

16. What items are in your purse right now?

Wallet, coupons, checkbook, pens, chapstick, keys, hand sanitizer, diaper, wipes, kleenex, fem products, shot records, insurance cards, wic forms, cough drops, Z's old glasses, old receipts, pocket calender, gum, spare contacts, pencils, bible and usually a phone (but not today).

17. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go?

Again I live in Washington, so I can do both! HaHa! But, right now I would choose whichever is warmer.

18. What websites do you visit that you know you shouldn't?

Etsy... I still haven't bought anything off of there, but it makes me have a bad case of the "I wants". So I really shouldn't be on there.

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Don't know who will really do this, but I tag Shandi, Ruth D, Ruth E and whoever else reads my blog & has one of their own.

Nest Swap Show and Tell

I participated in another Sister Shoebox Swap hosted by bloggers Monica and Carrie (who are sisters) and had so much fun with it! These two ladies are so encouraging, edifying and fun. I love reading their blog posts about crafts, family and most of all; the word of God.
This time around the theme was "Nest"! As most of you know we have chickens. Since getting those little ladies, I've been studying about chickens and other birds and have fallen in love with them. My swap partner Dawn and I stuck pretty close the the theme and put together little gift boxes for each other.

This is my package from Dawn. A bird wind chime, a giant pencil (that the boys love), some flower seeds, Cadburry Mini-Eggs (they didn't even stay around long enough for a photo, lol) and this totally AMAZING scrapbook that Dawn made herself. The pages fold out and have all these cute embellishments on them.I love the "Bless our nest" title on the cover. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to fill it with photos from this house or maybe where ever we end up next.

Yet again I forgot to take a pic of the package I sent off to Dawn, just as I did on the last swap I did. So if you really want to see it check out her blog. Her box included a hot cocoa jar mix, bunny marshmallows, coconut nest candies for her & her family, a pretty little box, knitted hot pads, a nest tealight holder, "sweet song bird" stamp and some sunflower seeds (her favorite flower). I hope you loved your box Dawn!

My past Swap photos can be found by clicking the "swap" tag below. ;-D

I should go to bed

But instead I'll blog a little to let you all know that we're still here, alive and well. =D
I thought it would be kinda fun to recap the last 24(+/-) hours and give you an idea of how crazy it's been around here lately;
  • Took kids to Awanas last night on way back home Elizabeth falls asleep (6:30 pm) and stays asleep when I bring her into the house.
  • Go back & pick up boys and this time on the way home my engine light comes on. Which isn't all that alarming, but if it's indicating what Josh thinks it's indicating the manual suggest "do not drive up any large hills or carry heavy loads" which translates into only one person in the car at a time and if we leave... we can't come back home (ie we live atop a large hill).
  • Elizabeth wakes up at 11pm... just as I'm dozing off and is rearing to go! Take her downstairs to the pull out couch (thank you Schisler's for getting new furniture!), put on a movie & tried to sleep next to her. Finally got her to sleep around 3 am!
  • Woke up to everyone's ecstatic cheers of "SNOW!!!" around 7am. <-I was not as excited!
  • Get a call at 9 am from a realtor asking if she can bring her client over at 11!!! No that will not work was my reply. Scheduled for them to come between 4 and 5.
  • Got a call at 10 saying plumber is coming soon, don't get in the shower, the water will be shut off.
  • Remembered that today is Thursday and I am watching my friends kids at 3.
  • Josh took a quick look at the car, not anything simple... something in there has to be fixed and of course it will be a lot of work to get to whatever it is. Darn compact cars!
  • Phone rang non-stop all morning and I think I sent/received a record amount of texts today.
  • Got school done and house mostly cleaned by noon!
  • Josh made lunch! <- Oh, how I love him so!
  • Weird people were stopping and looking at the house all day, one guy even walked around the property for about 20 minutes.
  • Friend's kids came over...we played, watched movies and relaxed.
  • Realtor shows up right at 4 while friends are still here to show our house to a single guy while there is 7 children in my house. Ahh! Poor guy! We're not even the big families in our circle of friends, LOL!
  • Did a Costco run with all my kids and Josh and all we needed was laundry soap...Why did I go to Costco only needing one thing?!?! Spent too much money, Josh bought dinner and we came home and crashed. Well all crashed but me, I'm still up and energized from all I had to get done today.
The clock is just hitting 11pm, so I guess I should head off to bed. Josh has an interview in the AM at a local company and then my mom, Elizabeth and I are off to my sister's house for two days! Yay! Girls weekend!

To all my prayer warrior friends please pray that this interview tomorrow goes well and that we can find a reasonably priced place to rent soon.
